Platte County District Court hears felony criminal cases, civil cases including divorce proceedings, and probate cases including settlements of estates, guardianships, involuntary hospitalizations and adoptions. Unless noted, indexes to case files have been retained by the court. Please contact the Clerk of Court for docket numbers before requesting case files.

A circuit court judge may submit names to the county commissioners for the appointment of magistrates to assist the judge. A full-time magistrate may be appointed in each county where a circuit court judge does not reside. There are full-time magistrates in Big Horn, Johnson, Niobrara and Platte counties.
